Sharon is developing her work as a puppet maker. She is currently working with Tim Davies Design as a maker. She has designed puppets for the R&D of Phantasia! The Lost World, and for the ESF production of Animal Farm.
She works well following instructions and working to a time limit, and is quick to pick up new skills.

ANIMAL FARM
This project required designing and making 6 full size animal puppets that could be packed down into two regular sized suitcases to be flown and assembled in Hong Kong.
The low-poly design was intentionally used to match the aesthetic of the masks used in performance.

Glow bear
This project required sewing fur onto all base panels, and then joining the panels together to bring the bear together, including a zip at the bottom. The full size of each bear spans approximately 350cm long and 250cm tall.
All the fur was hand cut and sewn in strips.
Two glow bears were finished. See the finished puppets here.

Parrots
This project required sewing eight wings in the space of four days, including inner structures to appropriate the correct shape of the wing is maintained when inflated. All the feathers were sewn individually, and then sewn onto the wing one by one.
To make the four beaks, a pattern needed to be cut out of plastazote foam to glue (contact adhesive) together, and then glued again to the 3D printed upper. A hole was melted for the camera insert. The foam was then treated and painted.
